Yaknow how parents are like when they are listening to something important and educational but they only half understand?
So today after dinner my mum told me to pop in some DVD thingum, it was a video of a seminar at some Life Church, american i presume. And it was the segment where a christian author talks about his book (NO, not Narnia damnit.) And basically it's about family bonding.
So there my mum sits, in that half cocked-eyebrow-i'm-concentrating-don't-interrupt-me sideways look at the TV, while the guy speaks fast American english, and she gives assent or encouragement or goodness-knows-what every by nodding and saying "mm" every thirty seconds.
So when the speaker was talking about how he once turned a suicidal goth teen who wanted to kill his parents into a witness and devout follower to God (He did so, somehow, by riding dirt bikes and jetsking with him), my mum turned around to me.
"You know, I think personal tidyness is very important. I look at your room, and it's always so untidy. You know what, we should seriously enforce something about this..."
I wonder exactly how much my mum understood of the talk. ._.
But quite sad lah. That guy right, chases off suitors for his daughters, they watch tv 2 hours a week, his son is 16 and doesn't have a phone... apparently 45min computer time a day as well.
This is someone who's almost celebrity status.. friends with Kathy Perry and family (forgot how to spell her name?) and the like. Quite really quite sad. heh.
