Okay, so apparently Chen Wei thinks that my blog is pretty immature. At least, that's what I felt was implied in his latest blogpost. I don't blame him really, I mean.. look at the bunny skin! The URL! The stupid photos! The incredible amount of "OMGLOLLOLLIPOP" present in the textual content, if there IS any content at all.
Well, no offence Chen Wei, but I like my style of blogging. I do not have the imba writing skills you posses, so I'll just have to make do with my current way of recording my experiences, in a way that is unique to myself - the "real" me in that sense. I want to look back at this blog in maybe a few years time, and see a funny, honest, albeit a bit immature kid's writing, instead of the pseudo-emotive prose that just appears to be fake and bland.
Take my URL. Fun Like Hor Fun? Like... seriously. That's one of the lamest urls I have ever seen. It should be flamed repeatedly by angry mobs of netizens until it changes into something like "fade-to-black".blogspot.com. (That may be a real url but I don't know)
Oh wait. It's my url.
Jokes aside, my motive and thoughts behind the url is still the same. I'm pretty happy with my life so far, though of course there are a few improvements that I would want to make. Studies, physically and mentally, ya'know, the normal stuff. I want to create a blog that is largely un-emo, going against the current trend of wrist-slashing teenagers. I want to show the world that hey, I have shitty studies. I have shitty fitness levels. NPCC is where many fugly girls go to. My social life can be counted on a gangrene-infected hand.
But I am HAPPY. And that's what many teens nowadays don't really have. UNLESS they're just acting emo in their blogs, which means that... I've just been living in a lie. *cue dramatic music*
So anyway, no offence Chen Wei. Actually I want to thank you for giving me a reminder about how readers view my blog as. The post above was not intended to argue with you in any way. It was just that you prompted me to reflect a bit on this blog and it's purposes.
And like you said, I'm still as manly as ever. (: ------------------------------------------------------------
SO NOW FOR THE ACTUAL POST!!!
Today's Sunday but I'll post as Saturday.
DMP today! So fun lor! hahas.
Okay seriously, it wasn't THAT fun. We went to this place called a "Halfway House" at this place called "High Point". Basically, it was a building and rehabilitation centre for ex-druggies to integrate back into society. It's like the Yellow Ribbon Project luh.
And the stories were quite touching. Many of the staff were ex-drug addicts, and they resolved to help as many as possible go back into society to continue helping others. Though their speaking skills were not very good and did not deliver any intensely heartwarming anecdotes, I could feel the gratitude coming from them about the High Point Projects. --------------- --Edited Part ---
OhAmGee. How could I have forgot one major event... Karaoke-ing with my mum!!! ^^
lols. Because I was going to bring some puny karaoke thingy to Daniel's bday party.. so I of course had to test it out at home first.
Then 1 hour and 15 songs later we stopped. I got 91/100 for 朋友-周华建 okaie! When I tried a year or so back I got like.. low 80s. So I've improved from "Good Singer" to "Superstar"!
On the other hand if you don't even sing into the mike you get like 40 points. So I wonder what's the standard they use...
But then again I got 80+ for the rest of the songs I sang, including Tears in Heaven which I thought I aced. Boo. Guess I'll never get to awesome standard anytime soon. ----------------------------
Then after that it was to look for a bus route to Daniel's house!
I DID NOT GET LOST OKAY!!! (:
My sister has super-high standards for gifts. And she's really pro in turning crap that I brought from home into presentable presents. So thanks.
But... Daniel's party was not what I really expected it to be... I was thinking of a well... disco-pool-side-heavy-bass-music thing with lots of beer, given his incredibly large social circle and his really really good communication skills.
But that was probably the 'old' him.
Whatever it is, even in the super-stone setting.. like 7 people, he still played a very good host.
I wanted the disco-thingy though. (: -----------------
OH right. My father is so cute. Hahas.
"叫宇运和Evan一起上去房间吧!"
I almost snorted out my fruit punch man. Thanks Dad, I appreciate the effort. (:
Of course it's taken grossly out of context, but still...
-----------
And after that we promptly got lost on our way to Pasir Ris Park. Took about 2.5hrs to get there and back.
-------------
Anyway, bye then. Gotta go mug.
