Well. Quote-explaining time!

1: Fading Moon.

Sometime ago, I was walking to school in the morning, just like every other day. (Yes, I live REALLY close to RI)

But something, I don't know what, made me look up at the sky, which was split into two, with the sunrise beginning its slow crawl up from my right, and the moon reluctantly giving up as it retreated downwards.

Something about the moon just held my gaze. I'm normally a sunrise kind of guy but this time, something about the moon made it seem mysterious, aloof, distant, and powerful at the same time.

I caught myself thinking... "that's just a big chunk of pockmarked rock very far away" and suddenly felt guiltily void of emotion and imagination.

On one hand, we have the moon, a bringer of death, the rouser of beasts of the night, the single unblinking eye that watches us at night. The moon is spun into silver threads for dark potions, it is the stuff of legends, the soul of every haunted mansion. Fairys dance around it. Werewolves hunt in it. Elvis Presley lives on it.

Yet, as anyone who lives in this age will tell you, it's nothing more than a big chunk of rock. That's it. It's not made of cheese, it doesn't tell your future, it sadly doesn't make you turn into a fierce, strong wolf-human. Though that would be sooo cool.

So, what am I trying to say?

I guess my point is that sometimes knowledge isn't everything. Sometimes, knowing is not all about facts and figures. Imagination is but another form of knowledge, sadly frowned upon by today's scientific-orientatied society. The fading moon symbolises an era of legends and folklore slowly disappearing with the arrival of a bright, clear, sun which illuminates all and leaves nothing hidden.

Phew that was cheem.

-------------------------------------

ARGH screw it. It took forever to write the above. I'll make it simple for the rest of the quotes.

One to five.

The repairman told me that as I called the hotline. They would come within "one to five" pm. I was going to yell at them for giving such a large time frame, but then I remembered that hey, I'm not the only one with problems. Why should I be special anyway?

You want the world to revolve around you? Get in line.

five minutes

When you need to wake up for school, five minutes is a short, short time.
When you're biting back tears, holding your face to the sky, five minutes is eternity.
When you're having philo... it really depends on what the teacher teaches.

Yet, all are five minutes. We don't move slower in relation to the speed of light when you're emo, or move faster when you're sleepy. It's all in your head, and how you control your time is entirely up to you.

digital fortress.

I don't even need to talk about this. Just think about all this technological advances. You attack with words and videos and protect youself with firewalls, all in the anonymonity of a computer ID number. Are you really reaching out to others, or are you merely encasing yourself into a digital fortress?

Ah well. It's hard to squeeze these quotes outta me so I'll start posting quotes whenever I feel like it.
