Anyway so I'll like to share a fairly amusing story I had today.
After school, I went to 3Q to talk cock with fuggle and ted for a while, then realised that I was going to have no time to practice my piano before class, so I went home.
When I reached home, I just dumped my mp3, wallet and handphone out of my pocket and onto the dining table before cooking lunch. (When there's pointy stuff in your pockets they (the pockets) tend to get dirty very fast)
So anyway, afternoon at my block is VERY quiet. Plus I didn't know that the power was shorted out. It was bright, I wasn't using any lights or fans so I didn't know that all the fishtanks were off till an hour later.
So after I cooked finished (now it was dead quiet- no sounds of the stove, no fishtank motors, no fans, no aircons or water running in the nearby units, no kids running around ground floor.)
I started to eat when I suddenly heard a very faint, familiar drumbeat.
After a minute or so of listening I suddenly realised that it was 幸福氧气! By Genie! The thought that I wasn't the only person I knew about that listens to Genie was quite encouraging. So I tried to hear to see if I could tell which unit it came from. Yeah I'm damn stalker so what.
But try as I might I couldn't find the source of the music! I went to the kitchen (which was closest to most of the nearby units) but the sound faded away there. I went to the balcony on the other side of the house but the sound faded again. In fact after probably ten minutes there was another faint song playing (another Chinese song hurray!) and I still couldn't find out where it was coming from. In fact, it seemed to be coming from my house!
I went to check on my computer (to see if the speakers were playing) and then I found out that the power was shot. But i didn't turn it back on immediately because I wanted silence to find that music.
However I kinda gave up after a while and went back to the dining table to eat my food that was getting cold. Then I heard another song start- this time "Dance Gate". It was heavy on bass drums so it travelled further and was easier to hear.
That's when I felt so stupid.
Guess where the music was coming from.
Guessed it?
It was from my MP3 player that was five feet from me all along. I forgot to turn it off and it had been playing in my pocket the whole way home. With the silence and drum-heavy songs I could just pick out faint sounds.
It kinda reminds me of the time I waited ten minutes for the traffic light when I was pressing on the wrong traffic light button (at a crossroads), or that time where I tried to walk down an escalator that was going up.
Yeah I'm dumb.
Anyway, I found out that I was quite tired. I played 1 song and slept all the way to 4.30 with my head on the piano until the doorbell woke me up. I need to sleep more...
