Hi guys! I'mm.... BACK!
Yeah, just back from my ATC at Pulau Ubin. It was surprisingly fun.
Thursday, the day before the ATC was great. I didn't go out with the class to bowl and play pool or something, because I had piano class. After that though, our family went to a fancy hotel (Grand Corpthon or smth) to eat a buffet dinner there with the pastor's family. I had a very paiseh moment because like all buffets, I just grab the food and start eating like there's no tomorrow.
But I forgot that it was the PASTOR's family... so they would say grace before eating. I guess I'm just not a very devout Christian =( Anyway, so I was eating, then about halfway through my plate I realised that no one else was eating and just sitting silently. Heh.. so I just slunked down into my seat and me and my sister started laughing quietly about the situation.
What made the day kinda bad was how while we were eating the buffet, everyone started suaning Evan about FLH. It was like 7 vs 1... and everyone was quite insensitive to her lor. When someone asked me about my opinion of FLH (forgot who) I just said "They're O.K la." and nothing else. I'm quite pissed about my response on hindsight. Being the gentleman that I am *coff coff* I should have said something better to defend her. So yep, Evan if you're reading this (which you probably won't), know that I'll stand by you no matter what. Haha, that came out weird.
I wanted to blog this after I came home that night, but I had to pack and it was 11.30 pm when I reached home, and about 2 when I finally slept, so I didn't blog.
Well, I tried to sleep. I tossed around in my bed for the remainder of the night and slept about half an hour in total. Frankly, that was probably the longest night I had in my life that I remember.I would stare at the ceiling for about ten minutes, then at the wall (about 6 inches from my face ) for another 10, then at my wardrobe, then finally my desk, then try to see the time on my clock in the dark room unsuccessfully, then repeat the cycle. It would have been O.K, if I didn't sleep at all, but what made the night longer was that I did sleep.
In about 2-4 minutes in length, on and off.
And everytime I fell asleep I had a dream that lasted about a hour long each. As in, like everytime I fell asleep for about 2 minutes, in my dreams I was spending more than an hour fixing a car or asking Davin how to solve the Rubik cube.
Given that I slept for around 30 minutes, and I slept an average of 10x 3 minutes, I dreamt for about 10 hours, and stayed awake for about 5 hours (To the time that I was supposed to wake up.) which gave a total of 15 hours of sheer boredom!!!

Dreams that I had include
1: Fixing a car (I don't know how I did. In my dreams I invented a mix of magic, dwarf helpers, and tools with super long names to fix a crappy Toyota for someone.)
2: Watching/learning Rubik cube. Need I say more?
3: Watching a chess tournament between old people. Argh this was the worst.
4: Dreaming about the ATC
5: Dreaming about the buffet.
6: Dreaming about blogging.
7: Dreaming that I woke up at 6, went to blog and MSN, and later realised that it was 10 am, 2 hours late for ATC.
The rest I kinda forgot.

And so, I had set my alarm for 6.50, but when I checked my phone after I saw the sky start brightening the time was 6.30. I had another dream in the meantime, and when I checked my phone the time just turned 6.49. So, as accurately as possible I counted to sixty, then hundred and twenty, and then 180, before looking at my phone again. Still 6.49. So I turned off the alarm and went to bathe. (Btw it turned to 6.50 a few seconds after I set the alarm off. This should give a gauge of time, about 3- 1 minutes.
Argh. Gonna play computer games now. Edit later with ATC stuff. Ta-ta!

(Edited on 19th November)
Well, after that, it was ATC!

1st day-

I woke up early, made my hair nice nice XD, then carried my bag to school where I was 45 minutes early. Adil, Sufyan, and some other people were there already so we just talk cock until we had to go. The bus ride was quite long (Didn't know exactly how long becoz I didn't wear my watch) but we travelled from Bishan to Changi jetty. There, we ate at some hawker centre and went on the jetty to Pulau Ubin.
After reaching the jetty at Ubin, we just walked all the way to the campsite, something that took about 45 minutes I think. Those CIs were dam suan... riding their bikes beside us and yelling about our "Sense of urgency!" There my bag started to get heavy, but before I couldn't tahan the weight we reached the campsite.
When we saw the bungalow-resort style houses, the flying fox, the rock walls, we were dam lala. Then we were pointed out by our CIs our campsite: A little ridge in a hill for us to put up tents. And the girls were to sleep in nice roomy separate tents, at the foot of the hill. Sigh.
Aniway, after that was the tent building. Being non-scouts and non Cat High, we all didn't really know how to put up a tent, (At least the RI and KCP didn't know how.) Seriously. The Cat High guys damn pro at these stuff.
So, while I was using eye-power to pitch the tent the CI came over and told me to help him. We were supposed to push a empty trolley up and downhill to the other end of the camp where the Sec 3s were. It was ok, until the trolley was loaded with about 7 boxes of rations there, total of about 150 cans of food ba. Damn bloody heavy. Dragging the trolley back was crazy. On the uphill stretches we push like siao, then on the downhill stretches we pull like siao to prevent the trolley from gaining too much momentum and falling.
After that, the tents were pitched and we were scolded a bit, then it was time for icebreakers. I'll rather not talk about the water-bottle games and such. It was fun, though.
Not as fun as hor fun, but still fun.
Oh, and each group was given a little marble, our "little friend" to safeguard. If we lost it we die.
I can't remember anything else that day so it must have been irrelevant.
At night though, that was one of the longest nights I had in recent memory as well. Given that I was already tired by the lack of sleep the day before and the first day of camp, I still couldn't fall asleep. Good thing I had some company to talk to, like those other people who couldn't sleep. Strangely, the sentry duty (4-5 am) made us all sleep becoz of the walking we did. So we slept for about half an hour.
Here comes the really retarded part.
The officers there said that we could start washing up at 5.30 and fall in at 6. So, when the 5-6am sentry duty boys told us it was 5.30 about half the population trooped down where we were promptly scolded.
"Why are you all awake? Go to sleep!"
"Sir! You said we could start wash-up at 5.30, Sir!"
"It's still 5. Go and sleep."
"But Sir! That clock says it's 5.35!"
"That clock is fast."
(P.S They confiscated our watches and told us to refer to that clock for the time.)

So, we all went back up, told the people coming down to go back, and the moment we reached our tents, they sounded a fire drill.
Diaoz. Make us run up and down the bloody hill somemore.

-2nd day-

The schedule pasted at the sinks were quite promising for the second day. We were supposed to kayak for about 3 or 4 hours, and do some nice "teambuilding" stuff like rock-climbing and playing games in general.

We were allocated the nice teambuilding stuff first, which was quite sad because I hoped to get a tan during the nice bright hours of the day, 9-1 pm kayaking. Sadly, we spent that time rock climbing and stuff.
Don't get me wrong though, it was very fun. Rock climbing is fun. I won't change my URL to Funlikerockclimbing though, because that's retarded.
After that, we went through a nice maze thingiy. There was supposed to be a word written in Braille inside the maze which was pitch dark, and we were supposed to climb under, over, and through obstacles to find the word, figure it out, then find the exit.
Oh, and did I mention that there was about 2 inches of water and slimy stuff on the floor?
Kinda sick actually. And you couldn't see anything at all. Nothing. You might as well have gone through it with eyes closed. I remember grabbing someones cheek and asking him if that was his ass or cheek. Or asscheek.

After that, it was time for kayaking!
But it rained.
We ended up washing the kayaks that the previous shift used, that's all. Sigh.
And the bloody loudspeaker keep on blaring this message for about 3 or more hours.
"Attention all ladies and gentlemen. Lightning has been spotted in the vicinity. All campers are advised to go indoors. Attention all ladies and gentlemen. Lightning has been spotted in the vicinity. All campers are advised to go indoors. Attention..."
Something to that extent, anyway. I kinda numbed that noise out after 10 minutes.

Then... we had the campfire. As usual, there were skits involving guys acting as girls, girls acting as guys, and a crowd of people stoning behind them. It was boring.

Walking back we still had to play some games. Everyone was dog-tired liao and most of the people slept while they were giving us a debrief. This time, everyone fell asleep, so much so that we all overslept (girls included) and were scolded the next day.

-3rd day-
We checked out of the camp, hiked all the way back to the jetty (With some noodles and canned food in my bag) and took the ferry back.
Did I mention the "Little friend"? We chucked him off the ferry into the sea.

Then we went home.
At RI, I walked to the RJC gate. It was locked. Then I went to the other gate, the one near the temple. It was locked. Then I walked all the way to the bus-stop exit. (Each exit further and further away from my house) It was still locked.
Then it started to rain.
I ran back to the Raja block, where only one other guy was there waiting for his parents. I really didn't want to wear the stupid light-green poncho I had, and I didn't have a phone with me, and I didn't want my bags to get wet, so I just waited and opened up some food to wait for the rain to end. I ended up eating some chicken noodles like a "Mami" packet. (opening up the packet, crushing the noodles, and mixing the msg inside it.) I got sick of it near the end.

Then I went home after 45 minutes, and slept for 13 hours, leaving my friends on MSN wondering where I was because I said that I would be "Afk for about 30 minutes to take a nap."
That's about all that happened.
And once again, sorry for the superlong blog post.
